life of Taqiyya, a suicidal NYC hip hop poet and her battle with manic depression.
Ophelia's Opera is an experimental domestic violence film directed by Abiola Abrams where Ophelia
uses a spell to free herself from an abusive relationship.
Afrodite Superstar is a 2007 feminist empowerment erotica film that Abiola Abrams directed under the name Venus
Hottentot. It is the story of a young socialite trying to figure out what sexy means. The sexual scenes were directed
by Candida Royalle. The film has been endorsed by Essence
Magazine, The Village Voice, and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors
and Therapists, Feminists for Free Expression, premiered at the New School for Social Research, and was featured in the art
exhibit Hos, Putas and Dragon Ladies: Our Sexuality Remixedat the Chashama Gallery.

A writer, filmmaker and TV personality, Abiola Abrams' first novel Dare
was published by Simon and Schuster. Abiola's writing is featured in current anthology A
Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer by Eve Ensler alongside the writings of Maya
Angelou, Edward Albee and Alice Walker. Her writing is also featured in upcoming anthologies
Behind the Bedroom Door by Paula Derrow (Self Magazine)
and Dirty Words: A Literary Encyclopedia of Sex by Ellen Sussman. Abiola provoked
ire when in college she wrote an article for Ms. Magazine defending Monica Lewinsky;
